NPD Technologist

Prominent and award winning WA food manufacturer seeking an experience NPD technologist to join their Quality team.

The role
This is a permanent fulltime position, working Monday-Friday day shift hours. Flexibility to work different hours during trials is a must. You will work alongside the production, development, administration, technical, quality assurance and marketing teams. This role requires an individual who has strong communication skills, can follow client specification, make improvements and modifications to new and existing products, supervise new line trials and can address problems that may arise across all stages of the production process.

Tasks will include;

  • Evaluating adherence to hygiene standards and FSANZ regulations
  • Formulating and presenting new products
  • Work with internal stakeholders to generate and develop a pipeline of products
  • Ensure compliance with key customers such as Woolworths, Costco, Aldi, etc.
  • Development and revision of the packaging material specifications
  • Lead and implement cost reduction programs
  • Sensory, shelf life and retention testing
  • Supervising factory staff during line trials
  • Be up to date with relevant scientific and technological developments
  • Review existing products and processes for quality and efficiency improvements.

Desirable applicants will possess:

  • A BSc in Food Science, Food Technology or equivalent
  • Previous experience working in new product development
  • Strong understanding of HACCP and Food Safety Management Systems (BRC, WQA, ISO, and GMP)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Full working rights in Australia
