One of South East Queensland’s leading golf courses is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Mechanic to join its small and professional team. One of the premier golf Clubs in the South East of Queensland, the facility has recently invested heavily in a new maintenance facility and is proud of its modern fleet of machinery. The Club is approximately 40 years old and has established itself as a relaxed, friendly yet professional Club that leads the way in many areas of the industry.
The Mechanic role has become open with the pending retirement of the Club’s current mechanic after a long tenure at the Club. It is envisaged that there will be a transition / learning period before the current mechanic leaves the Club and this will allow an exchange of knowledge and experience.
This is a high-level role with an expectation that the successful candidate can work autonomously and manage the Club’s mechanical requirements. You should be an extremely organised and diligent person that is prepared to do whatever is required to get the job done.
Experience & Qualifications
You should hold a trade in mechanics and have at least 10 years working in the industry. Experience with small engines and auto-electrics will be highly regarded.
There is an expectation of a minimum 40 hours per week and this is a salaried role with a remuneration offered that will be commensurate with the experience of the individual. Some weeks will require extra hours to get the job and requirements fulfilled and this should be expected.
The Mechanic will work Monday to Friday, usually starting from 7am with flexibility around the start time. You might need to start early (eg 5am) to assist the Green Staff with preparation of the Course for a larger event or in the case of other team members being absent.
There will also be an expectation that once per month the mechanic will start early on a Saturday morning to prepare the greens for the major members competition. This will be on a rotation basis with the shift lasting approximately 4 hours.
If this role appeals to you and you would like to apply we require a brief Cover Letter letting us know a little about yourself and how this role would suit you. You should refer to our Club in this letter. Your resume (CV) detailing your working history and experiences especially related to this role will also be required.
You can email our Course Superintendent should you have any questions not covered in this advert.
