About the Role
The NSW Telco Authority is looking for a Transmission Engineer to join their team. This role will be responsible for designing and managing the development of telecommunications radio site infrastructure providing transmission and backhaul expertise.
Key accountabilities will include:· Contribute and adhere to transmission design guidelines and standards
To be successful in this role you will be degree qualified in telecommunications, electronic or similar engineering. You are an experienced engineer with strong experience in transmission engineering.
The following skills will be highly regarded: · Advanced knowledge of microwave backhaul.
Advanced knowledge of fibre transmission.
Good knowledge of satellite backhaul.
Experience in P25, Public Safety, Push To Talk (PTT) or Mission Critical systems is highly desirable.
Any knowledge and experience in one or more of the following would be favourable: LTE, 5G, LANES, fixed wireless broadband, IoTPlease note - Regular travel may be required to Design & Construction partner offices in northern Sydney – usually 1-2 days per fortnight. Travel will be occasionally required to various radio sites throughout NSW – typically no more than 5% of time. A current drivers license and White Card will be highly regarded.
