Plant Operator - Backhoe


A rare opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified and experienced Backhoe Operator, to join our Civil Operations team, based at the Paget Depot.

Working under the supervision of a Leading Hand/Supervisor, your main responsibility is to carry out labouring and plant operation duties associated with the maintenance and construction of road and drainage assets, or other associated civil infrastructure.

Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

  • Current General Construction Safety "White" Card
  • Current QLD Manual Car ‘C’ Class Open Driver’s Licence
  • Current QLD Heavy Rigid Truck ‘HR’ Class Licence or ability to obtain
  • Current Certificate of competency to operate backhoe and other plant equipment
  • Current Traffic Controllers Ticket
  • Experience in operation of heavy mechanical plant, in particular backhoe
  • Extensive experience in construction/maintenance of roads and drainage infrastructure

Salary & Benefits Package:  

  • $51,139 - $52,245 base salary + allowances / overtime as applicable
  • Choice of 4 or 5 weeks’ annual leave with 17.5% leave loading
