New Zealand King Salmon are looking for a specialist Fish Health and Welfare Manager to join the team and play a key part in the management of our fish health and welfare operations in New Zealand.
Reporting to the COO our Fish Health and Welfare Manager leads our Fish Health team. They will be also be a key member of our aquaculture leadership team who are turning our plans for growth offshore into a reality.
Ideally you will have proven experience in salmon farming, including any one of the following, King Salmon, Atlantic Salmon, Trout, Coho Salmon, or any other similar fin fish species. Key accountabilities will include fish conditioning monitoring, fish pathogen screening, biofouling and plankton monitoring and environmental monitoring, as well as biosecurity. Knowledge of modern fish farming practices, environmental compliance and well-developed leadership and team member engagement skills are also essential.
A recognised veterinary qualification is not required but experience in working alongside qualified animal health specialists is a prerequisite. Candidates with wider agriculture and precision farming experience will also be considered.
