About the Role
The Clinical Research Fellow will be a key member of a busy and large academic medical oncology unit based at the Clayton campus of Monash Health. The Fellow will provide clinical care to patients enrolled on phase I, phase II and phase III cancer clinical trials across all tumour streams. Trials clinics for all tumour types will be conducted daily at MHTP, at which the Fellow will be expected to actively participate. The Fellow will also be expected to engage in translational research with opportunities for writing manuscripts, involvement in projects and attendance at national and international conferences. The Fellow will also be supported in developing protocols and is expected to fully work up at least one new proposal for an investigator initiated trial. The Fellow will assist with administration regarding collection and presentation of metrics for the Clinical Trials Unit.
The Fellow will participate in the after hours on call service as first on call. The on-call role is largely telephone based, but there is an infrequent need for call back to attend high acuity patients at the Moorabbin campus or occasionally the Emergency Department at Clayton campus. Participation at clinical meetings will include case presentations, journal article reviews and topic presentations.
An experienced and enthusiastic Physician with a vision for improving the provision of medical oncology services. You will also have outstanding communication and time management skills.
