What you'll be doing
The First Year Midwifery (FYM) program is designed to assist newly registered midwives (both single registrant and dual registrant) to consolidate their acquired skills and includes a rotation of employment through the Antenatal Services; The Birth Unit and Postnatal services.
The FYM program is a great opportunity to put knowledge into practice and has educational, mentoring, clinical supervision and preceptorship support for the midwives. There are three First Year Midwifery workshops included in the program where all ISLHD First Year Midwives both Gradstart and Postgraduate are supported to attend. These workshops are tailored to the specific needs of the graduate group and cover a broad range of topics that promote creative and reflective midwifery practice.

Wollongong Hospital is the Illawarra and Shoalhaven’s major referral and teaching hospital and has bed base of more than 500. The campus, which incorporates the Illawarra Regional Cancer Care Centre, provides a comprehensive range of inpatient, outpatient and community-based services.
