About the role

You will provide quality patient care through clinical nursing practice, promoting collaborative relationships amongst the health care team and maintaining a customer-focused approach to nursing across the continuum of care.

Duties

  • Delivering a high standard of nursing care to patients within the Medical Unit consistent with the mission and philosophy of the facility
  • Maintaining personal contact with patients and relatives, being sensitive to their needs for courtesy, dignity and privacy and ensuring a friendly environment at all times.
  • Planning and coordinating patient care effectively, maintaining patient advocacy and utilising patient management systems
  • Participating in and supporting education activities and contributing to the development of self and other team members

Qualifications, skills & experience

  • At least 12 months experience as an Endorsed Enrolled Nurse, preferably in a Medical Ward environment.
  • Current AHPRA registration as an Endorsed Enrolled Nurse
  • Current clinical knowledge that would apply to Medical Nursing and the ability to apply the relevant hospital policies in all aspects of client care
  • Be skilled at balancing the demands of multiple patients
  • Willingness to be a positive team member with an attitude to support others and problem solve efficiently
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of the professional, ethical and legal requirements
