Global IT&T company, Troubleshoot & train users on product hardware, 12 mth role, Mandarin & English required

This well known Global IT&T company is looking for a highly capable person to join their high performing consumer product group based in Chatswood.

Your new role
As a Technical Consultant you will be required to wear multiple hats in a very diverse and varied role. Ideally you will have at least 3 years experience in a mid to senior technical support role with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues. You will have prior experience with various consumer products such as Mobile devices, Laptops, Tablets, Wearable devices and proven knowledge of troubleshooting and supporting these products. You will also have the ability to work with various business units such as the marketing team in order to create and deliver local training documents to the wider support team and external supplier network. You will have a passion for hands-on technical work with the ability to disassemble a hardware product, troubleshoot an issue and reassemble when a viable solution has been found. Previous experience with log capture, triage and investigation of a technical fault are paramount in this role.

What you'll need to succeed
You will be a hands-on Technical Support professional with at least 3 years experience working with and troubleshooting consumer devices and log capture. Ideally you will have exposure to Android or IOS operating systems, a keen eye for detail and the ability to methodically troubleshoot an issue to resolution. As the role requires the ability to train users on new products as well as creating material to be used by external parties this role requires candidates that are fluent in both English and Mandarin. You will also own the technical training for service suppliers before new products are launched. You will also manage the repairs for the mobile phones/tablets/PCs demonstrating solutions to all technical related issues. There may also be some requirement to travel Interstate / regional sites which at this stage may be limited to a handful of times per year. Ideally you will have the following expertise: -

  • Android systems and devices.
  • Android platform experience.
  • Experience with handset/tablet repair.
  • Experience with electronics device spare parts.
  • Face to face customer service technical support.
  • Training/presenting skills is preferred.
  • Device troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with log capture tools.
  • Microsoft Office skills.

Due to the impact of COVID-19 the role at the moment will be working from home but as restrictions are lifted the transition back into the office will take place in the next 2-4 weeks. This role would suit someone who enjoys tinkering with technology, someone who enjoys exploring the capability of a new product or device before helping external users understand how it works and the best ways to provide support to that product. Candidates based overseas or who require visa assistance will not be considered, also candidates who do not have fluent Mandarin and English capability will not be contacted as its a prerequisite for the role.
