The Caring for Country (CFC) Branch works with Traditional Owners and relevant Aboriginal people and supports the management of their customary land and sea estates, in accordance with their priorities and aspirations.
The Training Administration Officer will provide effective and efficient administrative, financial and operation support to assist Indigenous ranger groups to plan and implement annual training and development programs for CFC Branch Indigenous staff.
This is an Indigenous Identified position, and a demonstrated ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal people and knowledge and experience coordinating remote training programs within a cross-cultural environment is essential.
Applicants should possess Cert II in business administration qualifications and/or previous experience in a similar position, with demonstrated skills in the use of various computer systems and the ability maintain databases, prepare reports and monitor budget expenditure.
Knowledge and understanding of legislation affecting Aboriginal land and sea management including the Aboriginal Land Rights Act (Cwth) 1976 and the Native Title Act (Cwth) 1993 is desirable.
Significant travel to remote areas is involved with this position and you will require a ‘C’ Class driver’s licence and the ability to also travel by air and vessel.
