The Employment and Workplace Relations lawyer who will be successful in obtaining the position will get an opportunity to work with a focused and growing client base (including some name brands) and not just "do the legal work" but get to work with referral partners, networking and generally contacts at the cutting edge of their industries. 

As a plus we have lower billable hours than other firms and encourage staff to leave at 4.30pm on a Friday afternoon!

Some aspects of the job include:

  • Preparing and drafting responses to unfair dismissal, general protections and anti-discrimination claims;
  • Attendance, representation and advocacy in conciliation conferences before the Fair Work Commission (FWC), Anti-Discrimination Commission Queensland (ADCQ) and Queensland Industrial Relations Commission (QIRC), Federal Court and Federal Circuit Court;
  • Drafting, filing and bargaining against employee representatives in Enterprise Agreement matters; and
  • Conducting workplace relations audits for various clients;
  • Numerous advisory work for clients to assist in preventing issues in the first place
