Supply Chain is responsible for the planning, purchasing, storing and distribution of inventory materials for Sydney Water Operations.

About the role

Reporting to the Team Manager Planning and Inventory, you will play a key role in building and maintaining the Inventory catalogue within our system for spare parts and rotable equipment which are used in Operations for maintenance works to maintain Sydney Water's fixed assets.

Within this planning position, you will:

  • Work with technical teams across Sydney Water to assist in identifying and onboarding materials into the system (spare parts and rotable equipment) to maintain Sydney Water's fixed assets.
  • Interpret descriptive manufacturer and technical information for materials (spare parts and rotable equipment) which includes technical specifications, drawings and other reference information
  • Ensure that catalogue data captures information from the manufacturer's reference data
  • Obtain specific technical data from suppliers and/or manufacturers to correctly identify fit, form and function characteristics of spare parts for Inventory
  • Physically identify materials when in Supply Chain to obtain/qualify information for the Cataloguing process
  • Ensure the catalogue is current following Sydney Water Cataloguing Guidelines and Procedures
  • Conduct ongoing cleansing activities and work with team members within the Supply Chain Materials Management Team

As a successful applicant, you will have

  • Relevant Tertiary qualification in Engineering - Electrical/Mechanical, or a relevant trades background
  • Knowledge of industry cataloguing guidelines and standards
  • Experience as either a Maintenance Planner or Cataloguer of Spare Parts and Rotable Equipment within an MRO organisation
  • Experience in working effectively with asset, maintenance and operations teams to improve technical cataloguing
  • Participates in determining cataloguing requirements for new installations, upgrades and/or decommissions
  • Demonstrated experience in collecting, organising, analysing and interpreting technical information.
  • Experience working within an ERP system either maintaining Maintenance Master Data or Supply Chain Cataloguing data
