The Corporate Services division supports the organisation with effective and robust financial controls, leading budgeting and forecasting processes, performing financial analysis, reviewing and tracking costs, undertaking objective and regular assessment of the financial aspects of Corporate Services services, and the preparation and delivery of executive financial and business reporting. The division leads and manages the development, implementation and ongoing optimisation of financial systems, processes and procedures required to measure, consolidate and report on Corporate Services finances, while ensuring that the financial and business reporting processes, tools and controls are integrated with those of the broader organisation.

The opportunity

Excellent opportunity for professional, methodical and meticulous  Manager Project Portfolio to proactively manage the overall performance of the Transport cluster project portfolio including mitigation of inconsistencies, risks and issues.

The role leads a team of 3 direct reports.

You will

  • Assess portfolio performance of all in-flight delivery projects across the Trasnport Cluster and provide advice on budget implications
  • Manage end-to-end Project Portfolio Management and Project System (PPM-PS) process within the cluster ERP system.
  • Forecast anticipated risks to planned project portfolio performance and facilitate reviews and interventions to projects of concern.
  • Analyse and track impacts of changes (i.e. additional allocations through FIAC, ERC) with focus on funds being utilised / progressed.
  • Enable informed trade-off options: scheduling and phasing of the financials with focus on project / program interdependencies.
  • Ensure that project portfolio continues to achieve expected outcomes through robust performance review.
  • Provide advice and recommendations on corrective actions for performance improvements in the management of the project portfolio to Transport Executive, Ministers and Cabinet.
  • Manage the Capital Project Reporting system across the transport cluster including reporting and data visualization techniques.

About you

A highly experienced Finance/Accounting/Business Systems/Project Portfolio Manager, you are well versed in proactivley managing very large scale/high value project portfolios with exceptional and painstaking detail. Displaying depth of technical skill you are the bridge between the business and technology solutions. Your impressive SAP knowledge includes extensive experience in the Project Support (PS) module, and ideally also the Project Portfolio Management (PPM) module in SAP.

Experienced in leading and motivating a team you are also a credible communicator with strong presentation skills, meeting challenges with assurance, reason and calm.

Essential requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (eg: Business/Information Systems; CPA Systems Accounting; IT qualifications with Business sub major) and/or equivalent experience.
