We have three positions available within the Defence Aviation Safety Authority (DASA).
Role 1: You will work in the Regulation and Promotion team to deliver initial airworthiness policy, regulations, training courses and promotional materials to the Defence aviation community. You will consult with internal and external stakeholders to analyse Defence and global aviation safety policy. You will answer regulatory queries, propose policy options and develop educational resources and guidance documents. You can expect some travel within Australia to conduct promotional activities.
Roles 2&3: You will work in the Type Certificate Oversight and Enforcement team to deliver risk-based assurance of Military Type Certificate holders. You will undertake assessments and oversight of ADF and commercial organisations providing design and continued airworthiness services for Defence aircraft. You will analyse and communicate risks to aviation safety internally and to stakeholders within the Defence aviation community. You can expect to travel across Australia to manage relationships and conduct oversight activities.

Our Ideal Candidate
We are looking for motivated aerospace/aviation (or related) engineers with experience in design, production, certification or management of aircraft, or other safety critical systems, with a keen interest in safety performance.
Role 1: You will apply your critical thinking skills to research and analyse aviation safety policy and use your experience to determine policy impacts. You will confidently apply your advanced verbal and written communication skills to deliver promotional materials.
Roles 2&3: You will draw on your broad experience to assess organisational performance and identify safety risks. You will be methodical in your conduct of oversight activities, with a high attention to detail. Your professional and confident nature will be necessary as you provide high quality advice to senior engineering managers and stakeholders.
