About the Role ...

The Payroll Administrator provides for fortnightly payroll functions of around 600 employees.  The payroll system is an external payroll system called ADP and we also use a rostering system Emplive and Emprevo for filling the shifts.  This position oversees fortnightly pay-runs ensuring the payroll is processed including superannuation, workcover and PAYG.  There is a strong relationship with the Finance team including preparing the General Ledger reconciliations relating to the clearing accounts.

The position is key to providing meaningful analysis and regular reporting of payroll costs against the budgeted rostering.  It also provides for other reporting such as leave liabilities, compliance reporting to other external parties as required.

About you ...

You are a highly organised detail orientated, with accuracy and self-motivated individual - someone who can manage their time and be flexible with their workloads.  You'll have a high level of teamwork with colleagues and empathy and compassion too.  You will have an enquiring mind and be able to follow through on payroll abnormalities and resolve complex payroll queries.

To be successful in this role you would need to possess the following: 

Essential skills and competencies:

  • A financial or accounting qualification or an extensive experience working in Payroll.
  • Experience working end to end in payroll all functions or /and a stand alone Payroll position within a Finance team.
  • Experience working with a workforce of 24/7 rostering, part time employees with  multiple Enterprise Agreements preferably within the Health or Aged Care industry.
  • A high level of computer skills including advanced Excel, Payroll & rostering systems and abiltiy to develop and extract reports.
  • Teamwork with colleagues
  • Effective communication skills
  • Friendly and positive personality

Desirable Experience and Qualifications:

  • A current police check
  • A current Flu Vaccination record
  • An understanding of the Aged Care Standards, accreditation, continuous improvement and ACFI requirements.
