The Justice Policy and Data Reform (JPDR) group provides policy advice and support on criminal and civil law and court and tribunal matters for which the Attorney-General is responsible. JPDR consists of three divisions:
Justice Policy and Legislation (JP&L): JP&L leads policy development and law reform across civil and criminal law, including the delivery of the Attorney-General's (and other justice Ministers) legislative reform program and national reform projects through the Council of Attorneys-General.
Justice System Reform (JSR): JSR leads strategic justice system reform, including data reform and strategic projects relating to the courts and key entities across the justice system.
Priority Projects: Delivers strategic policy and legislative projects that require targeted research and consultation with justice sector partners.
About the role
As part of the Office of the Deputy Secretary JPDR, the Strategic Advisor provides support and advice including the coordination of a range of portfolio responses. The role operates within a complex and dynamic environment that requires the capacity to exercise sound judgement, to liaise with and manage relationships with key stakeholders.
We are looking for staff who are motivated to make an impact in delivering the government's reform agenda and influencing how a complex service delivery system works at all levels.
