HSEQ Specialist


About the Role

Working as part of our Capital Projects team, the HSEQ Specialist will play a key role in the development, implementation and review of H&S policies, systems and initiatives across the AGL Loy Yang Site.

Drawing on your heavy industry experience, this role will require visible leadership to drive AGL’s risk management, quality assurance and safe systems of work initiatives

Your key responsibilities will be:

Provision of specialist HSE&QA advice and support to the Business Unit, specifically the Outages and Capital Projects team

Develop, Implement and Support a consistent approach to quality management across outages and projects

Providing advice, support and guidance to identify, assess and mitigate risk

Identifying contractual quality compliance requirements and take ownership of quality management systems

Delivering expert advice on risk assessments, method statements & JSEA’s

Implementing internal HSEQ audit schedules and ensuring the outage and project groups comply with the requirements of quality accreditation's

Proactively developing relationships and participating in safety initiatives and committees including regular attendance at site safety meetings (Toolbox talks)

Leading/Coaching Visible Leadership activities across the Capital Team

About You

To be successful, you’ll have:

Tertiary qualifications in WHS Management with a minimum Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety

A thorough knowledge of AS 4801, ISO 9001/14001, ISO31000

Experience in large scale construction projects and outages, including a sound understanding of the contractor management process

Accreditation as an incident investigator or equivalent experience with a proven ability to lead investigations

A clear vision on how to promote and lead a positive and engaged safety culture
