  • Salary starting from $68,048 (depending on experience) plus up to 15.4% superannuation
  • Permanent position based in Sydney or Melbourne

The team 

The Chief Data and Analytics Office is responsible for developing and implementing ASIC's data strategy. The Data Governance team oversees a data governance program to optimise ASIC's data assets and manage data risk. We work collaboratively with business and technical stakeholders to develop data principles, standards, polices, processes and to optimise the capture, share and use of data at ASIC.

The role

  • Prepare data for ingestion into the data cataloguing tool and manage the process of ingestion
  • Assist with cataloguing and maintenance of metadata assets throughout the data lifecycle
  • Maintain metadata reports and dashboards for visualising the status of metadata assets and processes
  • Assist with the development of workflows to facilitate curation of metadata and ownership of data assets
  • Work collaboratively with business teams, project managers, technical teams and subject matter experts to gather and define business and technical requirements for capture of metadata
  • Provide secretariat support to operational and technical committees overseeing data asset management, and co-ordinate and prepare technical papers for submission

About you

  • Qualifications in Information Technology, information management, business intelligence, or similar, or demonstrated equivalent experience
  • Experience in one or more of: metadata management; creating metadata standards or methods to organise data; business analysis; workflow automation or development of workflows
  • Technical skills and knowledge in some of the following disciplines: Data Modelling, ETL, MDM, Data Governance, Data Quality, Data Virtualisation
  • Experience in data management roles related to Big Data, Data Warehousing Analytics and/or Business Intelligence
  • Experience developing technical documentation for data management activities
  • Familiarity with solutions for Business Intelligence (SSRS, PowerBI, Tableau, Qlik, etc) and Analytics (Python, R, SAS, etc)
  • Exposure to Data Warehousing (Oracle, PL SQL, OWB, ODI, MS SQL Server, SSIS, etc) or Big Data Technologies (Hadoop, NoSQL Databases, AWS/Azure, Python, Spark, Hive, etc)
