The Role

The role will initially be a short-term contract; in this business process improvement consultant role, you will work closely with a range of stakeholders at an executive and operational level. You will engage with the business, technology and finance as you design, deliver and develop scalable continuous improvement initiatives that add demonstrable value to the business.

You will report through to the Head of Business Performance, who is a very smart, driven and engaging person with a breadth of experience in consulting, private enterprise and the NFP sector. As you will be working in a large and complex business that has been through a very rapid period of scaled growth you will have the opportunity to make a significant positive impact on the efficiency of the organization.

You will be working with a group of people who are very keen to improve processes, systems and ways of working, by using your experience in: business case modelling, lean thinking, human centered design and continuous improvement you should be able to clearly identify opportunities to increase business performance. A key part of the role is to then use your commercial skill set to create business cases that clearly demonstrate the ROI that will be generated as a result of implementing process and technology change.

Key Functions:

  • Develop and sustain continuous improvement scalable initiatives that deliver simple, easy, end to end processes.
  • Make viable recommendations for improvements based on key performance indicators, standards, and performance results.
  • Use statistical and business modeling techniques to create business cases that demonstrate the ROI to be had from process and technology changes.
  • Support the development, implementation and review of performance improvement strategies, including the policies, procedures and systems, training, etc.
  • Lead a portfolio of Initiatives in conjunction with teams across the organization to deliver the process, technology and people changes that will improve the way the business works.

Your Profile

You will have a strong background in business process improvement and working on organization wide initiatives that look at how structural, process, people and system changes can increase efficiency and reduce cost. You will also have experience creating business cases and conducting modeling exercises that allow you to identify and substantiate changes that can provide significant benefits back to the business.

You should have experience being an agent for change, and as well as identifying areas for improvement, you should be used to consulting with business stakeholders in order to successfully deliver strategic improvements that can be easily adopted by a large and complex workforce.

The successful candidate is likely to have most of the experience/knowledge listed below:

  • Good knowledge of process improvement and how to employ lean six sigma and/or human centered design thinking.
  • Experience creating business cases using different modeling techniques, that clearly demonstrate the ROI that will be felt as a result of changes that enhance business performance.
  • 5+ Years of experience in business process improvement, either in a consulting, business performance improvement, strategy or continuous improvement role.
  • A good understanding of change and transformation at a large scale, experience delivering change to a breadth of business, technology and finance stakeholders.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, the ability to build rapport quickly, and to understand complex concepts quickly.
  • Experience in a complex NFP business is desirable but not a must have.
