About the role

In this position, you will promote Sydney Water's brand with customers and stakeholders by using engaging strategies, techniques and content in online, social and digital channels. This is an especially important position in a changing media landscape where digital and social media are at the forefront of our major marketing campaigns.

  • Develop, recommend and ensure successful implementation of a range of social media and digital strategies to engage with customers, community and stakeholders, focussing on achieving learning, behaviour changes, reputational and positioning outcomes that align with the Corporate Strategic Plan and Communication Strategy.
  • Lead delivery of digital campaigns relating to water efficiency, Sydney Water's growth in Western Sydney, Recycled Water, Drinking Water, Wastewater, Education propositions by segment, B2B services, Customer Assistance Programs and the overarching brand campaign as required.
  • Ensure ongoing refinement, measures, and implementation of Sydney Water's digital and social media plans, policies and activities.
  • Represent Sydney Water through government and industry groups and forums relevant to digital and social platforms.
  • Develop comprehensive strategies and lead integrated digital and social media campaigns supported by best practice measurement and reporting.

About you

We are looking for someone with strong leadership skills to manage and prioritise projects and working to tight deadlines across multiple stakeholders. You have excellent customer relationship and interpersonal skills and you develop rapport and credibility with business and agency partners easily. Your prior experience should include:

  • Degree qualification in a marketing, IT or communications discipline
  • 10 -12 years' experience in communications or community relations, in a complex environment experiencing change.
  • Leading a team of digital and social media experts
  • In depth understanding of digital and social media metrics and the drivers behind each
  • Understanding of the role digital and social media plays in improving corporate metrics including corporate reputation, brand awareness and customer sentiment
  • Strong time management skills and ability to prioritise projects
  • Curious by nature with a drive to follow and investigate trends and new developments in digital and social media
  • Consultative style with ability to understand business challenges to negotiate positive outcomes with competing priorities
