An exciting opportunity exist to join the Safety, Wellbeing and Compliance team as a Technical Writer.

About the role

The Technical Writer sits within Safety Wellbeing and Compliance, People and Workplace Services business unit.  The Safety Wellbeing and Compliance team is responsible for ensuring the department is meeting its responsibilities under the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004, Accident Compensation Act 1985 and Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2013.

As a Technical Writer, you must have a passion for health, safety and wellbeing. Your passion and knowledge with health, safety and wellbeing, along with your skills and expertise in technical writing will see the Department of Justice and Community Safety transform its health and safety management system into a modern, clean, concise and performance based system, targeted for our end users.

About you

As our ideal candidate, you will have:

  • An eye for detail and a passion for ensuring documents and systems are easily understood
  • Hands on experience in OHS and are able to apply this to their writing
  • The ability to develop, publish and maintain high quality documents including performance based procedures and supporting materials
  • The ability to review, adapt and enhance current materials into a performance based format
  • The ability to review, research, recommend and implement ways to improve communications
  • The ability to quickly react to changes and demands for services
  • The drive to engage with multiple stakeholders ensuring the departments needs are achieved
