Procurement Implementation Specialist


About the Role:

WorkPac are currently seeking an experienced Procurement Implementation Specialist based within Brisbane CBD for an immediate start. This position will hold a Monday to Friday roster, long term in duration with competitive rates available for the successful applicant. 

Our client have embarked on a transformational procurement initiative focused on improving spend management, standardizing processes to drive operational improvements and largely to gain visibility and transparency within their Facilities Management spend categories. This position will lead the program from the design through deployment and stabilization in coordination with our strategic partners, inter alia, key suppliers, end-users and host community suppliers. This position will work in partnership with multiple mine sites teams and leadership to successfully deliver value through developing customised business strategies, implementation, and continuously improving processes.

Duties will Include: 

Working within the Global SC team, the incumbent will be required to:

  • Lead business through the definition, development, and deployment stages required to deliver a successful implementation and rollout of the procurement strategy
  • Ensure close management of program scope, schedule, resources, budget, issues and risks.
  • Proactively manage issues and mitigate risks to enable on time delivery within budget and with expected scope/quality
  • Represent program status, issues, and risks effectively with senior leadership with a high degree of professional confidence and credibility
  • Develop and manage relationships with suppliers and management of category specific total cost of ownership benefits to ensure continuity of supply risks are minimised and business requirements are satisfied and improvements implemented
  • Assume the category lead role, including the management of associated sub-categories
  • Drive, measure and monitor cost optimisation, value delivery and innovation agenda
  • Where necessary, undertake strategic sourcing, tendering and negotiation activity relating to the FM category and associated sub-categories utilising strong community and supplier development  experience and expertise to deliver effective contracting arrangements

Skills and Experience:

Formal Qualifications:

  • Required: An undergraduate qualification (Bachelors degree or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
  • Desirable: A postgraduate qualification (Honours/ Masters/ Doctoral degree or equivalent) in commercial related field
  • Certification and proven experience in Project Management will be an added advantage
  • Current "C" Class Driver's License and Own Transport
  • Must be either an Australian Citizen or a holder of an Australian permanent residency visa to be eligible to apply for this position
