Coordinator Management Accounting

Brimbank City Council is seeking a Coordinator Management Accounting to lead the Management Accounting function in supporting the financial operations and deliver on the overall objectives of Council by partnering with internal stakeholders to provide financial planning, analysis, operational and strategic financial advice.

As a key member of the Business Support department you will be responsible for the coordination of the annual budget and long-term financial plan, delivery of accurate and timely financial information and performance reporting, as well as leading a team of accounting professionals to deliver exceptional business partnering and customer service support.

We’re looking for a CPA/CA qualified professional with experience in leading the financial planning of a large organisation including the budgeting, forecasting and management reporting processes. Also important is the ability to lead, motivate and develop a customer-focused team along with high level experience in building relationships, excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to influence strategic decisions and support the development of policy.

Selection Criteria Essential: Are you CPA/CAANZ qualified with an appropriate accounting degree and a minimum of four years experience

Essential: Do you have extensive experience in managing, supporting and developing a team of qualified accounting staff?

Essential: Do you have extensive experience in business partnering including the ability to foster strong stakeholder relationships to provide a high level of customer service and collaborate across functions to achieve organisational outcomes?

Essential: Do you have extensive experience in financial analysis, complex business plans, budget and forecast development including highly developed analytical and problem solving skills?

Essential: Do you have extensive experience in preparing quality management reports with clear and concise analysis and commentary for various audiences?

Essential: Do you have highly developed verbal and written communication skills to interpret complex accounting information to non-financial stakeholders?

Essential: Do you have highly developed effective influencing and change management skills to facilitate organisational outcomes?

Essential: Do you have highly developed time management, prioritisation and forward planning skills in a demanding work environment?
