Coordinator Landfill Services

Permanent, Full-time (average of 38 hours per week)

About the role

You will coordinate the planning and operational activities at the Millar Road Landfill facility, which include landfill, recycling, transfer station and weighbridge activities. You will enforce regular inspections and monitoring of the daily operations of the facility to ensure compliance with statutory and environmental regulations, licence requirements, occupational safety and health requirements and the City’s Policies.

In conjunction with the Manager Waste Services you will prepare business plans, team plans, budget reviews, financial reporting relating to the Millar Road Landfill facility, and also maintain plans for future development of the facility. You will manage projects including obtaining works approvals when required, drafting of tender specifications and contract management to ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget.

You, in the role

You possess extensive management skills, communication skills, interpersonal skills, report writing and contract management skills. You are able to manage multiple functions simultaneously, using your well-developed time management skills to meet deadlines. You have sound knowledge of sanitary landfill operation methods and operations.

You possess formal qualifications in civil engineering or waste management, project management and/or extensive relevant experience is essential for this role. You have extensive experience in managing a Waste Facility at a senior level including proven experience in landfill compliance and regulations. You hold a current valid ‘C’ Class drivers licence which is also essential for this role.
