About You and the Role

The Team Leader provides support to their team of Support Workers and our clients in the provision of efficient and effective accommodation services. Barkuma aims to be a provider of choice for those with an intellectual disability.

Client Support

  • Daily customer case note review, with timely client health / well being action
  • Client liaison with legal guardians or financial administrators
  • Client health care oversight including appointment maintenance and hospital liaison
  • Risk assess clients and undertake monthly client finances reconciliation
  • Annual client support plan review

Staff Support

  • Case note management and review and document as necessary
  • Rostering management as necessary including adequate shift coverage
  • Timesheet processing to payroll in accordance with worked time/rosters
  • Monthly 1:1’s and team meetings
  • WHS audits are actioned and WHS incidents are followed up within 24 hours
  • Annual staff appraisal implementation and outcomes management
  • Effective orientation and induction of new Support Workers
  • To obtain an interview you should possess:
  • DHS Disability Services clearance
  • Minimum 3 years disability supervisory experience (intellectual disability environment desirable)
  • Minimum Certificate IV in Disability or equivalent
  • Certificate IV in Frontline Management (desirable)
  • Ability to undertake Support Worker duties across any shift, including nights and weekends, when shifts are unable to be filled (attracts penalty rates)
  • Appropriate motor vehicle that is registered, comprehensively insured with a valid driver’s licence
  • Senior First Aid / Provide First Aid (desirable)
  • Medication certification (desirable)
  • Manual handling (desirable)

Working 10 hours across 4 days on / 3 days off between 7am to 9pm (roster dependent) including weekends (generally one weekend per fortnight).
