Paralegal, Document Support

How will I help?

As part of the GTS Legal and Document Support Team, you will play a key role in supporting the Westpac Institutional Bank (WIB) and our business partners to achieve their goals through exceptional governance and strategic service.

GTS Document Support use a broad range of documents (bank standard, industry standard and individually tailored), and Paralegals gain exposure to the operation of these documents and the underlying financial products and services.

Tasks undertaken include:

  • Administration of documents from drafting and negotiation through to execution and custody;
  • Initial analysis of documents, amendments and other correspondence from business partners, lawyers and customers;
  • Providing training for other staff and presentations for business partners;
  • Continuous improvement of processes and documents;
  • Report checking and investigation; and
  • General support to the WIB Legal teams.

What do I need?

You will have a couple of years’ experience working in a similar role in a fast-paced, high volume environment. Legal qualifications and/or experience will be highly regarded however are not essential for this role.

Key capabilities include:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build and sustain key relationships, including third party service providers such as panel firms
  • Strong organisational skills, including the ability to multitask
  • Attention to detail and outcomes focus
  • Sound analytical skills, judgment and decision-making ability
