Procurement Specialist

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced procurement professional to join a business inclined towards enabling others to live life better. Reporting to the Procurement Manager ANZ, you would be looking after the day to day Procurement activities for Australia and New Zealand across all Abbott divisions.

In this fast-paced role, you would be supporting and executing strategies for indirect categories, delivering the best total cost of ownership that effectively meet the business needs and objectives while ensuring compliance to the procurement policy implementation.

What does a day in this role looks like:

At Abbott, no two days are same but your day to day responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Support with and build relationships with key divisional stakeholders to manage and facilitate day to day tasks
  • Proactively seek innovative ways to improve the procurement processes, cycle times and customer service levels
  • Execute the procurement process & compliance including completion of associated documentation (RFx's/Contracts/SOW/bids/justification) and lead supplier negotiations
  • Execute and provide support in the commercial relationships for indirect categories, including sourcing, contract and vendor management
  • Support in tenders and contract documentation, cost, terms and conditions negotiations with appropriate vendors
  • Proactively seek opportunities to deliver savings &/or add value to Abbott divisions spend
  • Manage the purchase order approval process as per policies & SOP within expected timeframe
  • Execute & manage preferred supplier program, provide assistance to internal customers in relation to supplier and contract management. As required, act as point of escalation between the supplier and internal customer.
  • Work on project across multiple Categories that impact the team positively
  • Perform job responsibilities in accordance with the highest ethical standards. Help and guide internal customers and suppliers in proper procedures to maintain the same ethical standards
  • Manage day to day procurement operation, including problem solving, communication of information to both internal stakeholders and suppliers to keep apprised and to prevent problems
  • Conduct training for procurement process & policies as required
