Agile Coach

As an Agile Coach within the Westpac Group, you will play an important role in ensuring a successful Agile Journey and play a key part in embedding the adoption of new agile ways of working. Working with leaders and cross functional teams, you will influence the engagement, processes and practices to bring agile culture and values to life.
How will I help?
You will be responsible for ensuring the overall business objectives for the adoption and advancing of agility, and lean practices are met. You will provide hands-on training, guidance and coaching to all team members on all aspects of agility to guide teams towards improved ways of working. Core responsibilities will include –

  • Act as an Agile champion and contribute to expanding the understanding and practice of agile principles and values throughout the organization
  • Facilitate an environment of team spirit and excitement around constructive changes
  • Coach the teams to identify and implement process improvements to improve both immediate and long-term productivity using Agile practices and tools
  • Continuous improvement initiatives, based on data and observable outcomes
  • Focus on transferring new skills into teams to grow autonomy and accountability so that we as an organisation continuously focus on delivering customer value.
  • Support and encourage teams to minimise output and maximise outcome and impact
  • Help give teams solid starting points which they can adapt, own and improvise upon to help resolve real time delivery problems
  • Identify transformation activities that will drive the Continuous Improvement of Agile adoption and success of agile practices and ceremonies across the team and organisation

What do I need?
  • You have the breadth and depth of experience required to take leaders and multi-disciplinary teams on an agile journey
  • Have an eye for the bigger picture through multiple lenses
  • Experience in the financial services industry
  • Deep understanding of a variety of Agile methods such as Scrum, XP, Feature Driven Development, Kanban, Lean and DevOps with the ability to transfer that understanding to all levels of the organisation
  • Experience training and facilitating teams and large groups
  • Prior experience of working with stakeholders as a trusted advisor to identify challenges and work through implementation for sustainable positive changes
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders with a problem-solving approach
