Business Policy Coordinator

We are looking for a Business Policy Coordinator to join our Queensland Rail Travel team based in Brisbane on a permanent full-time basis. In this critical role you will be responsible for developing, delivering and maintaining a document management framework which defines practical, effective and consistent processes for implementation throughout the Travel and Tourism business. You will work closely with the Training and Quality Assurance teams to support business growth, safe operations, customer satisfaction and commercial viability.

We are looking for a highly organised and motivated individual who is adaptable and who has outstanding stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

About the role:

  • Develop and manage a document management framework for Travel and Tourism; and coordinate the development and maintenance of Travel and Tourism key policy documents
  • Analyse and review all travel related policies to optimise their return and maximise business efficiency
  • Coordinate the continual improvement and review of key Travel and Tourism documents as part of a scheduled review program
  • Using yield management principles, develop commercially viable fare concepts and policies for recommendation to management
  • Consult and liaise with internal and external stakeholders and relevant departments / bodies which govern travel policy to provide recommendations
  • Provide input and expert advice in relation to customer complaints, projects and strategies regarding policy related matters including responding to ministerial briefing notes and queries
  • Benchmark business activity and policy across the tourism industry with other service providers
  • Deliver key communications regarding policy advice and booking procedures to staff and stakeholders such as external agents

About you:

  • Extensive knowledge of policies, procedures and regulations pertaining to rail passenger transport and third party travel throughout Australia
  • Substantial level of skill in yield management within commercial business frameworks
  • High level of analytical and problem solving skills
  • High level of interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Substantial level of clear and persuasive written and verbal communication skills
  • Substantial level of customer service skills
  • Previous experience using SharePoint and Visio is desirable but not essential

This is a permanent full-time position with the starting salary approximately $103,000 + superannuation + free travel to and from work on duty days.
