Chief Commercial Officer (Full Time)

Your Purpose Reporting to the CEO, the CCO is responsible for driving the commercial strategy of Peoplecare, specifically the

business value, growth and performance of our products and managed services for Peoplecare clients.



  • Owns the portion of the Peoplecare business that offers services to clients – the “Commercial” line of business (i.e. non

Peoplecare Heath Fund business). Including

o Profitability and sustainability of the commercial business

o Development and growth of the commercial business

o Relationship management at Board and Senior Exec level of commercial clients

o Lead Peoplecare’s representation at Board and Committee meetings of commercial clients

o Management of client contracts

  • Monitors and provides recommendations for overall business performance improvement including

o Product Design and Innovation for all Peoplecare products and services across the whole business

o Business unit financial performance

o Product Group / Product performance of Peoplecare Health Fund, the diversified business streams, Peoplecare

Eyes & Teeth, Broader Health / health related, in particular growth, utilisation, financial targets and/or profitability

o Operational performance oversight and input – including productivity / effectiveness reviews, supporting executives

/ managers in setting performance targets and objectives to meet customer needs

  • Prepares or oversees business case development, cost / benefit review and analysis of financial risks and outcomes prior to

these going to executive team / Boards for decision and before projects are implemented.

  • Develops and recommends business performance targets to achieve financial and strategic objectives (in conjunction

with CFO)

  • Oversees Development of Business and operational budgets for the Commercial business

  • Take a lead role, supporting the CEO, Directors and executive team members for the commercial as well as strategic

development of the business.

  • Liaise with CFO

o Where required to fulfil this role / their role

o Is the CFO’s partner, working together to achieve all aspects of financial / business performance and to achieve

finance related strategies.

o Support team financial performance

o Management / operational expense reviews

o Cost allocation / activity-based costing

  • Liaises with the executive team to negotiate and balance client service needs and contractual obligations with efficiency

and cost drivers of the services provision areas of the business.


  • Engage in and promote risk management and apply risk management processes consistently and automatically –

making it a part of the way we do things at Peoplecare.

  • Encourage your team to be open & transparent about issues by responding positively to bad news and events raised

by your team, with a focus on continuous improvement and prompt rectification. We can make a difference!

  • Promptly act on health & safety issues identified by you and your staff by reporting, documenting and treating risks and

act in accordance with Peoplecare’s Risk Management Strategy & Framework.

  • Be aware and own the risks within your business area and make informed risk-based decisions, using the Risk Assessment

template for all contracts, business cases, significant business decisions, and projects under your control.

  • Ensure you and your team comply with Peoplecare Policies, relevant laws and regulations, including APRA Prudential

Standards that may apply.

Inspire the Product and Managed Services team to achieve success within their roles, and against either the Product Strategy,

Leadership of Direct reports

  • Provide strong leadership and direction to direct reports.
  • Undertake quarterly performance updates with direct reports, and an annual formal performance review.
  • Ensure that direct reports are rewarded for excellent performance and great ideas within the overall company

performance recognition models.

  • Deal with adverse performance issues promptly and in accordance with Peoplecare HR Policies, utilising the Head of

People, Culture and Capability as required.

  • Have an open-door policy and encourage open discussion between yourself and staff when they need to.

  • You’ve made a real difference – created significant change, developed big ideas, led others and brought concepts to


  • Impeccable communication and relationship building skills
  • Strong business development experience
  • Demonstrated experience in putting together strong business cases to back up your strategic thinking.


  • Tertiary Qualifications in accounting or business
  • CPA / CA (optional)
