nbn has been established to assist the Australian Government in ensuring all homes and businesses in Australia have access to fast broadband. Nbn designs, builds and operates a wholesale-only national broadband network for Australia including a mix of broadband technologies.

A bit about your role

The Reliability Engineer will provide strong technical support, guidance and advice for multiple operational initiatives and Projects within nbn. The objective of this role is to enhance the Operational excellence within nbn and drive initiatives that will provide IT reliability that ultimately benefits our end customers.

The technical role requires multiple initiatives to be running in parallel. This includes attending Architectural reviews, performing code changes, initiating test campaigns, supporting multiple environments, automating processes, tracking software lifecycles and operational costs.

In addition to this, the Reliability Engineer will also be responsible for the following:

  • Environment support, including the consolidation and decommissioning of Applications
  • Designing, coding, merging, testing and delivery of changes into production. This also includes reviews, automation and migration projects like DC exit
  • Review and Manage roadmaps, software lifecycles, NFR’s, cost saving initiatives, POCs, designs and Integration changes
  • Software Pipeline management and Merging
  • Performance Testing

A bit about you

To be successful in this role, the Reliability Engineer will be experienced in initiating and delivering IT projects that benefit Operations, decommissioning IT platforms, managing operational Vendors and OPEX costs including cloud costs.

Technical experience will include IBM Websphere Process Server, WMQ, JBOSS Fuse and ActiveMQ, Splunk, AWS Cloud Management, Coding, Cloud migrations and Pod and Container Management.
