Serco is currently seeking a highly experienced leader to shape, lead and drive our Safety, Environment and Wellbeing function for the Aspac region. Offering an outstanding technical skill set, you will be a dynamic and influential leader with an improvement and efficiency focus, as well as a passion for innovation. Highly collaborative with an ability to build strong relationships across the organisation, you will have a pragmatic and flexible approach with the ability to adapt to a diverse and dynamic environment.

About the opportunity

Reporting to the Chief HR Officer, you will need to bring to the role a genuine passion for making a difference, a commitment to improving health and wellbeing outcomes to a diverse employee group and outstanding stakeholder engagement.

A key member of the Asia Pacific People & Capability leadership team, as well as the Global HSE Leadership team, your role will encompass an end to end line of sight of our Contract Lifecyle and our employee experiences with a primary focus on improving safety and wellbeing outcomes and enabling injured workers to return to work.

Leading the function to meet immediate current needs, whilst continuing to develop a sustainable, long term focus on risk reduction and risk mitigation across Serco, you will play a key role in supporting and positively impacting people’s lives through a strengthened SEW service delivery capability.

What you need, to do the job

You will be able to demonstrate your expertise by offering:-

  • Examples of past performance within high risk industries in leading a large, geographically dispersed team operating within a matrix reporting structure
  • Experience in challenging risk profiles as well as similar industries/market segments
  • A background in the design, use and maintenance of Safety and Environmental management systems including those with certification to ISO45001 (AS4801), ISO14001 and OFSC is essential, including knowledge of what is accessible, high impact and meets different stakeholders needs.
