Manager, Sexual Reproductive Health Program (SRH)

The Papua New Guinea Australia Transition to Health (PATH) Program is one key way in which Australia is investing in PNG's security, stability and prosperity by delivering support to PNG’s health sector. PATH supports locally generated and scaled health systems reform, working in partnership with the Government of PNG on high priority health issues including health security, communicable disease, family planning, sexual and reproductive health, and maternal and child health. Position Summary – Manager, Sexual Reproductive Health Program (SRH)

The Manager, SRH will be responsible for managing relevant programs and supporting implementing partners to meet identified targets and goals under the Sexual Reproductive Health Program.

Working closely with the Senior Manager, Reproductive, Maternal and Child Health (RMCH), you will be responsible for managing the relationship with and supporting implementing partners to manage grant implementation and reporting requirements and facilitate targeted technical capacity support as needed.

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Develop and manage effective relationships with DFAT funded provinces under the guidance of the Senior Manager, RMCH
  • Monitor and review contract deliverables, workplan implementation, risk registers, budgets, the submission of quarterly Performance Framework results, communication products, GESI requirements, six-month reports and annual reports
  • Schedule and conduct bi-monthly progress calls with each grantee to understand implementation progress, challenges and deliver general program updates from the PATH team
  • Conduct provincial level supervision visits and implementation monitoring in coordination with the PATH Performance and Adaptive Systems team
  • Contribute to the six-month and annual donor reports
  • Participate in relevant technical working groups in coordination with implementing partners.
  • Provide input into and present during relevant program meetings.
  • Facilitate access technical assistance, training and capacity building support from within PATH
  • Develop agendas and facilitate grantee workshops in coordination with other Managers and the Senior Manager, Maternal and Child Health

The successful candidate will bring:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a related field such as international or community development, public health, social science research, monitoring and evaluation, project management or public policy.
  • More than six years’ experience in a program management or senior program coordination role in international or community development, humanitarian or health-sector programs.
  • Understanding of grant management including a demonstrated understanding of GESI principles and how they apply to aid programming and evaluation.
  • Experience in broad coordination and facilitation and capacity building to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical and writing skills including the preparation of reports and briefs for internal and external stakeholder audiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills with proven results in working with senior leaders, external stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
