Local History Officer

The library service is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated person to be responsible for the ongoing preservation of history relating to the City of Cockburn.

The principle responsibility of the position will be to undertake relevant research into the local history and heritage to the City of Cockburn and be responsible for the publication of this information to the local history website.

This is a 9 month full-time contract position.

The successful applicant will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications recognised by the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) and/or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
  • Demonstrated research and reporting skills.
  • Experience in managing digitisation projects and digital records management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including presentation and report writing.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of industry trends and best practices including accessibility and conservation of cultural collections.

Salary: $82,859.43 - $89,530.60 per annum depending on skills and experience.
