Trainee Survey Draftsperson / Spatial Data Analyst

Our Melbourne office based in Oakleigh is seeking a person who has strong adminstration skills, is a technology enthusiast coupled with an interest in 3D spatial design. This role is entry level and offers the opportunity to be mentored and developed by our key management team which will help shape your career within the Electrical, Spatial and Construction Industries.

With a keen interest in spatial engineering, the Trainee Survey Draftsperson / Spatial Data Analyst will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

  • Computer program related file interpretation, conversion and processing
  • Reviewing files, processing pointcloud/ spatial data and using various software
  • Photogrammetry processing and other data processing
  • Complete survey drafting in the electrical and construction related industry
  • Be present on occasional site visits with team leaders on a range of overhead and underground power distribution projects
  • Learn and maintain expected current drafting standards as set by legislative requirements and market demands
  • Assist in the delivery of projects within predetermined specifications
  • Assist in quality checks and procedures
  • Communicate with internal staff and provide project updates to clients
  • Assist with administration attached to the project delivery
  • Provide administration support to Electrical Survey Team and Laser Scan Team
  • Be adaptive to work and assist in multiple teams project requirements
  • Interpret information and communicate effectively with clients and colleagues
  • Prepare reports and update clients with assistance from your Team Leader
  • Support teams across the business with ad-hoc duties

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Learn how to draft using AutoCad
  • Be able to complete administration attached to projects in multiple teams
  • Be able to adapt to changing requirements and demands
  • Be willing to develop skills in design based applications i.e. AutoCAD, Revit, CloudCompare, Scene etc
  • Have keen interest in computing and forward thinking technology
  • Have excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Have a keen eye for detail
  • Hold a current Driver's Licence
  • Be willing to learn and develop under guidance from your Team Leaders
  • Ideally would have completed further education related to technology or spatial industry
