Custody Transition Consultant

Our client is a prominent Australian industry super fund that is growing quickly and seeking to hire a Custody Transition Consultant to their Melbourne office. This is an important long-dated 10m contract position to support our client as they complete a custody transition from one custodian to the other. The ideal applicant will have direct custody asset transition experience ideally from both the client and custody side. Ideally you will have custody transitions project experience, including prior work within fund accounting, tax reporting and unit pricing.

The primary function of the Custody Transition Consultant is to:

  • Work with and assist the Head of Investment Operations and the Project Consultant to perform a wide range of actions and coordinate work across all aspects of the custody transition
  • Support and coordinate the transfer and re-registration of investment assets
  • Perform actions to coordinate and support the transfer of investment reporting functions
  • Contribute to the onboarding and integration of the custodian including liaising with external services providers as required

The Custody Transition Consultant will be expected to have skills and attributes as follows:

  • Knowledge of superannuation taxation, investment counting, unit pricing, and investment performance reporting
  • Knowledge of financial instruments and the operation of investment markets
  • Thorough understanding of the superannuation industry

The ideal candidate will have experience working with a custodian, superannuation fund or asset manager and will be paid on a fixed term basis on a 10m contract duration. This is an interim contract position beginning circa Sep 2020 with a potential to extend past 10m depending on good performance.
