Retail Sales Consultant


The Company

Vital Living is the principal supplier of high quality mobility, aged care, rehabilitation and independent living products on the Mid North Coast. 

We provide life changing products and equipment to retail customers, hospitals, aged care facilities and aged care package recipients, physiotherapists and occupational therapists. 

We are also a registered NDIS Provider and contracted provider for the Department of Veteran Affairs.

With showrooms in Port Macquarie, Forster and Taree our team of professional and caring staff service the Mid North Coast region from Nambucca to Tea Gardens.  We have an aggressive growth strategy that fits with our highly ethical sales approach and market leader philosophy – and are looking to build our team. 

The Role

As a Retail Sales Consultant based at our Port Macquarie showroom your primary responsibility will be to help retail customers with a variety of mobility and independent living needs. You will be provided ongoing training to develop your understanding of and familiarity with the products and services Vital Living offer, and you will learn how to ensure the customer is happy and the best solution is found to meet their needs.  We are looking for a vibrant and energetic person who is skilled at providing an exceptional customer experience through strong customer connections.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Reporting to the Sales Manager
  • Driving sales and superior customer service to our retail customers
  • Ensuring company performance standards are always met
  • Providing product suitability information to our clients enabling them to find the best solution to meet their needs
  • Liaising with medical professionals and providing them any information available on product suitability
  • Providing feedback to management on product suitability and quality.
  • Processing of quotations and sales orders
  • Ensuring all required stock is on display in the showroom and properly ticketed, displayed and organised
  • Assisting other staff in their roles when necessary, including staff training where appropriate
  • Performing other duties as reasonably directed

The Candidate

Ideally you will:

  • Have proven experience in a retail environment
  • Have a passion for sales and an ability to think creatively to meet customers’ needs
  • Be an outgoing and caring individual who is driven by helping customers
  • Have an understanding of the needs of aged and disabled customers, or a true willingness to learn, how to service their needs accordingly
  • Be self-motivated and able to work independently and with the team
  • Have a desire to meet and exceed KPIs
  • Have strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Be computer literate including proficiency in all Microsoft applications
  • Have and maintain a current drivers licence

Previous experience in the health care industry is not essential but would be highly advantageous. The successful candidate will have training provided as well as ongoing support and development.
