Learning Support Officer

The Operational Capability Division has been undergoing an exciting transformation designed to improve ambulance response to the Victorian community and the health, wellbeing and capability of staff.  The Learning Support Officer role was designed to assist the Vocational Training & Student Team Leader to facilitate courses and maintain management systems in order to ensure compliance of the Registered Training Organisation (RTO) to the Standards for Registered Training Organisations 2015.

About the role

The responsibilities of this ongoing, part-time role (22.8 hours/week) based in Ballarat, will include, but are not limited to: 

  • Overseeing the delivery of internal and external training courses, ensuring that certified courses are delivered by qualified trainers and adhere to the RTO Compliance & Delivery Framework
  • Ensuring self-auditing activities as required by Standards for Registered Training Organisations 2015 are conducted
  • Providing accurate and timely information regarding registration and compliance
  • Assisting the Vocational Training & Student Senior Team Leader to coordinate RTO Compliance and Delivery framework
  • Maintaining AV's Student Management System
  • Planning & and preparing approved vocational training & providing advice and support to both trainers and students as required
  • Providing administrative support to vocational training and student programs areas as required
  • Fostering constructive and effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders

About you

In order to be considered for the role, candidates will have experience and an understanding of RTO compliance or Standards for Registered Training Organisations 2015 and possess a Certificate IV in Workplace Training & Assessment.

With demonstrated administrative experience, preferably within an education and learning environment, the successful candidate will possess intermediate to advanced computer skills and be proficient in the Microsoft suite of applications. Possessing high level organisational and time management skills, candidates will be flexible to manage changing and conflicting priorities and will be able to call upon their high level of personal maturity, judgement and initiative when required.  With well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, candidates will be able to effortlessly build strong relationships across the business and with external stakeholders.

The successful candidate must also hold a current Victorian Driver's License and be willing to travel throughout metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria if/when required.

AV has introduced salary bands and this position is graded at AV2.  The AV grade salary range for an AV2 position is $64,114 - $76,039 plus 9.5% superannuation (pro-rata). It is generally expected that candidates commence on the base.
