Retail Banking Services (RBS) is the public face of CommBank, delivering a seamless banking experience for the future, to our 10 million + personal and small business customers. We offer market-leading products and services, supported by some of the world’s best systems and processes.

Within RBS, the Unsecured Lending Team is responsible for end to end P&L management, product design, acquisition & portfolio management, channel management and customer experience for the Personal Loan and Personal Overdraft products.

Reporting directly to the Senior Manager, Strategy Optimisation, Personal Lending – The purpose of this role is to drive overall profitability of the Personal Lending portfolio through innovation and data analysis, aimed at developing strategies to drive profitable growth and minimise risk across the portfolio. This is achieved through individual initiatives as well as collaboration with the wider team. Key to success will be your passion for delivering insights to drive positive outcomes for our business.

More specifically you will:

  • Identify opportunities for revenue growth, cost reduction, process improvements and risk reduction through detailed analysis of data, financials and monitoring.
  • Identify opportunities and provide recommendations for improving customer experience through analysis of customer complaints.
  • Undertake qualitative research to complement quantitative insights to identify opportunities.
  • Work closely with our business partners in risk, analytics and finance to design and maintain key product reports with accurate data.
  • Provide support to the broader personal lending team as a data expert.
  • Co-ordinate the Analytics Engagement Model/Process.

  • Risk Mindset –All CommBank employees are expected to proactively identify and understand, openly discuss and act on current and future risks.
  • Experience in developing insights and make recommendation from data and analysis
  • Advanced analytical, numerate and logical reasoning skills
  • Ability to articulate complex analytical requirements and findings in common non-technical terms
  • Advanced communication and engagement skills
  • Experience presenting analysis to Senior Leaders
  • Advanced SQL skills and experience dealing with large and complex data sets
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Relevant Tertiary qualifications – ideally in business, engineering, mathematics or IT.
