A great opportunity for a highly motivated individual who is committed to planning and implementing the Eastern Bristle bird Project Phase 1.

The Natural Environment Project Officer is responsible for the delivery of biodiversity conservation projects within the Natural Environment Programs team, Gippsland.

The position will be responsible for the planning, delivery and reporting of threatened species projects associated with bushfire recovery funding.

The position will develop planning documents, manage stakeholder consultation, and work collaboratively with government agencies, community groups and academic institutions to deliver the Eastern Bristle bird translocation project and other fire recovery projects as directed.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in natural resource management and/or relevant experience is mandatory.
  • Knowledge and skills in bird or other fauna translocations is desirable.

This is a fixed term position available until 30 June 2021.
