KPMG's Management Consulting (Financial Strategy and Performance) works with projects within government agencies as well as CFOs and senior finance leaders to analyse the cost of operations, estimate the cost of future activity, control costs and make value for money investment decisions. Typical projects include budgeting & forecasting, activity-based costing financial aspects of procurement activity, cost estimation for large, capital intensive projects and cost control and efficiency analysis.

We are on the lookout for great talent at the Associate Director level.

Your Opportunity

As a key member of the team your responsibilities could include:

  • Undertaking cost estimation and cost assurance projects;
  • Financial forecasting and monitoring of large projects and organisations;
  • Costing of business cases and new policy proposals;
  • Activity Based Costing and/or cost recovery and attribution projects;
  • Development of financial models;
  • Financial and pricing aspects of large government procurement processes;
  • You may be driving costing projects autonomously, so you will be able to seek out the information from stakeholders yourself;
  • Writing board papers, reports, proposals and tenders.

To be considered for this opportunity, your qualifications, skills & experience could include:

  • Relevant experience in financial management or costing advisory services;
  • Bachelor's degree or higher qualification, preferably in Accounting, Commerce or Finance;
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team;
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels;
  • Effective analytical and problem solving abilities;
  • Ability to work with detailed plans and specifications;
  • Intermediate/Advanced Computer Skills & Knowledge including financial modelling and/or estimating software
  • Knowledge of other commonly used software packages is expected (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, MS Project).
  • Ability to understand and interpret contract and post-contract documentation (including legal documentation and specifications).
