About The Opportunity
Liverpool Hospital is recruiting for a Director of Birthing Unit to complement and enhance the current team. Desirable experience includes:

  • Tertiary Hospital Birthing Unit Director Experience
  • Managing maternal transfers
  • Managing high risk obsetetric patients in a high-dependency birthing unit environment
  • Running birthing unit simulation drills for consultants, registrars and midwives

What You'll be Doing

Provide clinical leadership in the antenatal and intrapartum management of women at Liverpool Hospital under your care. This care will be provided within the clinical privileges granted by the CE on the advice of the SWSLHD Medical and Dental Appointments Advisory Committee.

How to Apply

To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria as thoroughly as possible.

  • Current medical practitioner, registered, or eligible for registration, with the Medical Board of Australia and Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and/or other specialist recognition as provided under the Staff Specialists (State) Award.
  • Demonstrated current clinical practice of a high standard and ability to adapt clinical practice in accordance with contemporary evidence based best practice.
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.
  • Demonstrated participation in teaching and training at undergraduate and/or post graduate level, including supervision of junior medical and midwifery staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to comply with the service objectives of a public health organisation, including the provision of services to the local community, effective utilisation of resources, and preparedness to participate in the provision of health services at an LHD level.
  • Preparedness to participate in a hospital, service or LHD on-call roster.
  • Sound knowledge of the SWSLHD Tiered Maternal Network is an advantage.
  • Willingness to actively supply clinical advice, support and guidance in the safe management of maternal transfers within the SWSLHD and outside this Area.
