Our client, a local government organisation, is seeking an experienced and Revenue Officer to join their team for an 8 week leave cover. The role is based near Whitby.


Working hours: Full time (Mondays - Fridays: 8am - 4.30pm)

The Role

Some of the key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Assisting the finance team in optimising revenue and business performance
  • Ensure property database is all correct and current
  • Assist with orders and requisitions
  • Assist with account queries and EAS daily
  • Assist with processing of all rate notice runs
  • Process pensioner application forms and complete refunds
  • Assist with the collection of overdue rates
  • Maintain partnerships with ratepayers and government authorities
  • Liaise with Council's auditors in relation to finance matters
  • Assist with in-house recovery of debtors and charges

Experience Required

  • Minimum 18 months experience in a similar role
  • Sound knowledge of accounting principles
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to multitask
  • Proactive and organised with the ability to learn quickly
  • Ability to utilise initiative and problem solve
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience using Technology One (desirable)
