Mechanically Minded (WILL TRAIN) Envelope Adjuster/Operator

Are you mechanically minded?
Maybe you're an ex Printer, Print Finisher or Label Printer?
Do you like doing up cars, bikes or bicycles?
Do you have excellent attention to detail and are considered a bit fussy?
Do you want to work in a creative family business where your opinion really matters?
Are you looking for a long-lasting role and can start immediately?

You can be young or not so young, male or female - just come with a willingness and ability to learn and adapt in a small, fast growing, successful family business.

THE COMPANY
Peterkin is a family owned and run Premium Paper & Envelope Wholesaler/Manufacturer and Trade Printery established in 1996. We're the direct importer and distributor of some of the most luxurious invitational papers from around the globe and the only operating envelope manufacturer in WA.

In addition, we're a luxury paper merchant, specialist trade printer (including luxe letterpress and foil-press on vintage presses) and paper product supplier to the wedding invitation industry.

We sell our products to the trade via our website and market ourselves around the globe via social media. We believe in hiring talented individuals who know more about their field than we do, then working with them to bring out their talents.

We’re looking to train from the ground up (if necessary) a mechanically-minded Envelope Adjuster/Operator to mainly run our 1975 W&D 327 Envelope Machine. We have a couple of other envelope machines for different size ranges, but this is our main old boy.

THE ROLE – view our video on how we make our envelopes at: www.peterkinenvelopes.com.au
- Select paper stock from pallet racking (fork lift license would be handy)
- Die cut envelope blanks using a rise and fall ram die press
- Change machine from one size & style to another
- Maintain the quality of our envelopes. This includes folding, printing, gumming, and any other attachments being put on the envelope.
- Help maintain good working order of machines, including performing regular maintenance.
- Maintain good housekeeping in machine area.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Experience with machinery is desired (but if you’ve read this far, you already know that). An ability to problem-solve mechanical issues is essential (there it is again).
Hey, they’re old machines – which means they’re fixable!

ARE YOU A GOOD FIT?
-You love to know how things work, the mechanics of it all, and love spending time tinkering with machines or parts.
-You have multi-tasking talents - but not eating and talking, we don't want to see that!
-You desire to go out of your way to please people - both our clients and other team members.
-You're capable and resourceful and can perform simple math.
-You have a desire to work with competent individuals you can rely on (and laugh with).
-You have a good eye for detail.
-You appreciate craftsmanship and old machines. You love 'working with your hands'...
-You have a desire to work close to the city, but not in the city so you can drive your car and park for free.
-You have a desire for work/life balance – we only work week days and finish at 4pm (woohoo).

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
-Sense of humour!
-The ability to work well as part of a tight-knit team

If this sounds like you and we sound like your people, then we'd love to hear from you.

Send me your resume or if you want to chat, call the office.
