Switchboard Operator

What this opportunity involves:
As part of the Concierge Services Team based in Canberra, you will oversee the National Switchboard on behalf on the client and manage client requests and expectations. You will join a close-knit, co-operative team and you will learn and grow your expertise among the client portfolio.

Working with the on-site team, you will provide consistent customer service in a professional and friendly manner, take part in ongoing team co-operation and knowledge sharing, and deliver dependable service at all times.
Daily tasks are assigned on a consistently duplicated shared schedule -

​Daily tasks will include:
Incoming and outgoing calls from staff and members of the public
Appropriately screening calls, and transferring calls within the Department
International dial out on behalf of Department staff
Arranging and confirming phone line bookings, cancellations and modifications (using MS Excel, Outlook and provided templates)
Arranging manual updates to the phone system on a daily basis
Researching information for challenging queries and sharing new information with other team members

Want to know what we're looking for?
A co-operative team player, with a high level of customer service and patience
Proficient written and verbal communication
Experience with MS Outlook, Excel and Word (and basic computer literacy)
Able to work well under pressure during busy periods and be ambitious about filling the quiet time on slower days
Able to work well unsupervised and follow provided instructions
