About the role:

As the successful applicant, you will provide authoritative strategic advice to Victoria Police decision makers on the results of intelligence gathering and analysis, including the identification of trends and emerging issues. You will model leadership attributes in the workplace and across the organisation through the provision of coaching and guidance in intelligence analysis and related skillsets. You will contribute to Victoria Police intelligence holdings by remaining conversant with current national and international technological, legal and operational trends in crime, road safety, and public safety, and the intelligence tools being utilised in analysis and reporting.

Some of your duties will include:

  • conducting qualitative and quantitative analysis on trends, issues and drivers to inform senior decision makers;
  • preparing high quality products on a range of issues including crime, road safety and public safety;
  • the development of operational and strategic intelligence across the organisation; and
  • providing intelligence briefings to Executive Command and other stakeholders as required.

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • a high-level understanding of intelligence analysis and strategic intelligence, with practical applied analytical skills;
  • demonstrated critical thinking skills and the ability to condense complex ideas and information into a language appropriate for the audience;
  • high-level negotiation, presentation and interpersonal communication skills with the proven ability to liaise with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders; and
  • proven experience in the preparation of comprehensive reports, plans, and proposals.

Requirements and relevant information:

  • Your usual place of work will be within the Specialist Intelligence Services Division, Intelligence and Covert Support Command; however, you may be required to work at any other division within the Intelligence and Covert Support Command as required.
  • The successful applicant will be required to undergo National Security Vetting, achieve and maintain a security classification as determined by the Department Head. To achieve this, applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
