The Melbourne Region is responsible for the delivery of on-ground works and services that conserve environments, protect culture and heritage, manage visitor facilities and improve opportunities and support fire and emergency management. The Regional resources will support environmental, social and economic outcomes for Melbourne communities. Service delivery is managed and delivered within the demands of the Divisional Action Plan and in partnership with community and government agencies.
Melbourne Region consists of a diverse range of Local Ports, waterways, parks and reserves. Staff working within the Region are responsible for providing efficient and effective implementation of a broad range of often complex park management functions including natural, cultural and built asset management, visitor management and services, local port and waterway management, commercial management, community engagement, stakeholder management and emergency response.
About the role and your responsibilities
As a Ranger based at Albert Park, the primary focus of your position is to plan for, and deliver, in park services as directed by the Ranger Team Leader to enable efficient and effective delivery at a district level in accordance with the District Action Plan. You will undertake activities requiring a level of environmental and arboriculture service expertise in on ground service delivery.
You will also regularly liaise with contractors under the supervision of the Ranger Team Leader. You will deliver horticultural and arboriculture works programs across the Albert Park District with a focus on horticultural and arboriculture maintenance to agreed quality standards. The Ranger will demonstrate a strong personal work ethic and will be accountable for personal performance as well as actively participate in a team environment. You will be adaptable and flexible to on the ground service requirements in order to ensure superior park management services are always achieved.
