Short Description: Transition Manager
Roles and Responsibilities:

  • End-To-End management of transition including initiation of overall structure and its activities, including listing of key requirements, evaluating project plans and schedules, identifying and managing issues and risks related to transition, overseeing Knowledge Transfer, Shadow Support and Primary Support phases
  • Responsible for coordinating transition related communications, including compiling project information for reviews and set up governance mechanism with identified program stakeholders
  • Provide inputs and participate in transition progress and act as the first level of escalation on across multiple tracks that’s involved in transition
  • Conduct analysis and provide independent judgment to key activities and their outputs that’s related to transition
  • Able to respond to most situations with limited guidance and formulate alternative courses of action on more complex information with additional guidance from senior LT
  • Has hands on experience in managing large and complex transition in multi-vendor environment
  • Develops reporting tools/workflows for use in transition management
  • Decompose transition into time-phased projects and prioritize key deliverables; assumes full accountability for overall success of transition
  • Define transition goals and objectives; identify transition requirements; identify resource requirements; develop transition budget; ensure headcount and other resources are identified for all key phases; track issues/risks against transition plan and report to management as agreed in the governance structure
  • Develop and be accountable for the overall transition plan by integrating sub-project plans; ensure resources are committed and engaged for all transition phases
  • Identify key program metrics/milestones and assess risks
  • Produce project documentation; establish and maintain project information system; monitor and control transition. Manage transition as a project
  • Review and monitor outgoing vendor/org participation and performance; assure compliance with the agreed Governance standards, manage conflict resolution among all the key parties involved in transition
  • Manage key decision points in transition plan; communicate effectively at the track level, stream level, internal and at various levels of client organization
  • Manage transition to ensure deliverables are produced, and partner to obtain signoffs; work with vendors/partners to clarify roles and responsibilities so transition objectives are met
  • Review and evaluate transition documentation deliverables for correctness and completeness, conduct post-implementation review and record/communicate results to facilitate learning that will be useful for the next logical phase of transition
Skills /Competencies:

Essential:
  • Experienced in handling large transitions in complex multi-vendor environment
  • Ability to manage global, multi-vendor, high-risk transitions involving complex interlock
  • Ability to demonstrate traits of a big and complex program manager, experienced in handling large transition programs
  • Skilled to interface with multiple business units, organizations, and multiple specialist groups within the organisation as well as within the client organisation
  • Ability to work closely with senior Business Leaders, IT Partners, vendors and peers for the project, the customer and the transition team (onshore and offshore)
  • Ability to lead/coordinate a cross-functional team, ensuring that transition meet defined scope, time, cost and quality constraints
  • Ability to manage critical/high risks that may arise during pre-transition and successfully execute transition without impacting the overalls schedule or quality
  • Skilled to interface with multiple business units, organizations, and multiple specialist groups within the organisation as well as within the client organisation
  • Ability to work closely with senior Business Leaders, IT Partners, vendors and peers for the project, the customer and the transition team (onshore and offshore)
  • Ability to lead/coordinate a cross-functional team, ensuring that transition meet defined scope, time, cost and quality constraints
  • Ability to manage critical/high risks that may arise during pre-transition and successfully execute transition without impacting the overalls schedule or quality
  • tertiary qualifications
Preferred Familiarity with handling large transition programs in banking sector
