Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) is responsible for providing primary and secondary health care for people living in the Auburn, Blacktown, and The Hills Shire, Holroyd and Parramatta Local Government Areas (LGAs) and tertiary care to residents of the Greater Western Region. What you'll be doing Security Health Assistant`s primary responsibility is for the protection, security and safety of all staff, patients and visitors and the securing of patient property within the Yarralla unit of Cumberland Hospital. Security health Assistant will also assist with patient support, administrative tasks and food preparation and serving on the unit as required. Security Health Assistants are responsible for the protection of the assets of Western Sydney Local Health District. Essential Criteria: License: Security Licence
Qualification: Certificate II in Security Operations and Current Senior First Aid Certificate. Selection Criteria:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Infection Control principles.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Work Health and Safety and Equal Employment Opportunity requirements.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Manual Handling practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment and understanding of mental illness and hospital environment.
  • Excellent written, verbal and computer skills including Microsoft office works programs.
  • High level of understanding of responsibilities in dealing with confidential information.
  • High level interpersonal skills including ability to portray a positive impression/attitude to consumers and their relatives/carers.
  • Knowledge and understanding of legislation relevant to the security role, 1A License class as issued under the Security Industry Act 1997.
