IT Support Assistant


The summer of tennis is returning to Melbourne, with the Australian Open (AO) set to be held in January 2021.
We are looking for experienced, IT enthusiasts to join the Information Technology Team for the Australian Open 2021. We are seeking talented IT Support Assistants, so if you enjoy a challenge and have a passion for IT and events coupled with a willingness to learn and a proactive and positive attitude, we would like to hear from you.

About the role:
In this role you will:

  • Provide 1st and 2nd level technical support and user training to Tennis Australia (TA), Member Associations (MA) and Australian Open (AO) team members
  • Provide effective support to TA, MA, AO and other Tournament staff, including hardware support, and all internal and external applications
  • Configure hardware and software for TA, MA, AO and other Tournament staff as required
  • Assist in hardware deployment or retrieval as instructed by relevant team seniors
  • Attend to all requests for assistance during events promptly and request needs to be logged in ticketing system
  • Answer all Service Desk phone calls received promptly with intent to achieve First Call Resolution
  • Attend to all Walk Ups at the IT Support Walk Up Stand promptly and triage as per agreed process
  • Other duties as requested or required by Management
About you:
  • A friendly nature, with a customer-focused approach when it comes to providing support
  • Proven commercial Service Desk experience
  • Intermediate to advances skills in MS Office, Windows Desktop OS, Apple Products and smart phones
  • Intermediate scripting skills
  • Experience creating technical documentation and providing application support
  • Intermediate knowledge of telephony and of networking
  • A strong understanding of ITIL Service Management
  • A tertiary qualification in IT or equivalent work experience.
  • You must hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Police Check and Working with Children Check
